Before It Was a Badge. Before the Military Freefall badge was pinned to a uniform, it was pencil on paper.



In 1983, SFC Gregory A. Dailey sketched an early concept for what would eventually become one of the most recognizable pieces of insignia in the special operations community. More than a decade later, the Military Freefall Parachutist Badge was officially approved—and a rough drawing became part of MFF history.



This mug pays tribute to that origin story.



The front features Dailey’s original concept drawing in all its hand-drawn, engineer-it-on-a-napkin glory. No giant unit logos. No motivational slogans. No explanation required for the people who know.



It’s part history lesson, part homage- a nod to the guys who were jumping from perfectly good aircraft before the Army got around to designing them a badge for it. From sketchbook to jump wings.
